A Talk with Dominic Liber
“Open Inquiry: A Transformational Boost for Your Yoga or Other Practice”
You’ve probably come out of a yoga class or a meditation session feeling good in some way. Have you ever taken the time to wonder “what kind of good?” Maybe you’re more peaceful and still, or happy, or contented. Perhaps you feel more grounded, or gentler with yourself. Maybe you feel more energised, clear, or a combination?
What happens if you take a moment to stay with and directly notice, for example, the lightness or the tenderness? How do you experience it? Perhaps there’s a kind of warm softness in your chest? What’s that like, and what has changed from when you walked in? How is it that this sensation is here now but wasn’t before. Did you experience any discomfort, physically or emotionally at times, and if so can you connect that to any previous experiences in your history?
Taking the time to recognise and explore your experience in this way means you can understand what’s happening and transform in a much more profound and lasting way. If you don’t recognise and appreciate what has happened or what is present, the impact may be more fleeting.
Open Inquiry is a spiritual practice like meditation, but with a different focus. It is a way of exploring your inner experience in an immediate, tangible and precise way that unlocks your potentials to be lived in every day life.
