Welcome to Clerkenwellbeing for hypnotherapy Clerkenwell in EC1.
What is hypnosis?
The hypnotic state is something we all experience everyday of our lives. It’s that state of focused attention when you’re so deeply absorbed in a good book or film, that someone can call your name several times before you realise they are talking to you.
In the hypnotic state we allow the conscious mind, the part that thinks it is in charge, to quieten down and step aside, permitting access to the deeper part of you. That deeper part is called the unconscious mind.
The unconscious mind is like a super computer. It has filed away all the things you learned from all of your past experiences. Using hypnosis we can update those learnings to have you automatically responding in a way that better serves you in the present.
What can hypnosis help with?
Hypnosis can help with a broad spectrum of problems such as stress, anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions (e.g. smoking, overeating,), disrupted sleep patterns, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, fear of examinations and public speaking, allergies and skin disorders, migraine and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
What to expect
Beginning with a complimentary 15-minute telephone consultation to get some understanding of the problem you wish to overcome, we then proceed to meet for our first session. In our first session we will gather a case history and then we get started with hypnosis. You will sit in a comfortable chair and allow yourself to relax as I speak calmly and softly to you, which permits access to your unconscious mind.
After the first session clients typically report feeling much more relaxed and calm and optimistic about the future. Clients typically need between 3 and 6 sessions to fully integrate the new changes, although it depends on the individual and the type problem they are seeking to overcome.
