Registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach DiplON, mBAN, CNHC
Food is integrally important in our daily lives. It serves as a fuel, an energiser, and a pleasure, but it is also serves as information for the body. Managing nutrition and lifestyle can have a dramatic impact on our physical and emotional wellbeing.
Marjolein discovered the power of nutritional therapy after many years of anxiety, depression, recurring infections and extreme fatigue. It was clear that something was up, yet her GP was unable to diagnose anything medically awry. Having exhausted all conventional methods, she turned to nutritional therapy and discovered a way to learn more about her own body and take control of her health.
Having received a diagnosis of endometriosis in her early thirties (after 15 years of gruelling symptoms), Marjolein is particularly passionate about period health, and helping women get to the root cause of why they are not feeling fantastic. Mood swings, fatigue, and unbearable pain are not ‘just part of being a woman’ and no one should have to accept them as an unalterable part of daily life.
A consultation begins with a complimentary introductory phone call to understand a client’s main concerns are, and building a program tailored to their needs. Programs run for a minimum of 12 weeks and are a combination of face-to-face (or virtual) conversations and coaching calls. Dietary and lifestyle recommendations are developed in a collaborative environment, creating programs that tackle the root cause of a client’s symptoms and support them to make realistic changes that have a lasting impact. Detailed functional laboratory testing can be instrumental in determining the best course of action and Marjolein frequently recommends digestive (via stool), hormone (via urine) and DNA (via saliva swab) testing to ensure her recommendations are aligned to each client’s unique requirements.
As well as one-on-one programs Marjolein also runs group programs to educate and empower individuals to feel fantastic.
She is a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), the professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapists, and she is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the government’s regulatory body.
