As a yoga teacher Chrissy really honour the origins of the practice and resonates strongly with the original traditions. She has been practicing yoga for 5 years -2.5 of these were continuous ashtanga where she then discovered vinyasa and loved the freedom it gave to play around. However despite being trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa she takes the traditions of ashtanga and incorporates them into her classes.
As a yoga teacher Chrissy brings the teachings from the east right onto your mat in the west – her goal is to teach yoga for what it really is- a moving meditation; her favourite inspirational words of wisdom are “yoga is not a workout it’s a workIN”
Chrissy uses pranayama, asana and short meditation sessions to help stabilize the nervous system and calm the sympathetic system.
Her classes work with marrying the breath with the movement, to allow students to arrive into the present moment. Yoga has touched many deep personal aspects of her own life so she understands just how healing stepping onto the mat can be!
After many years of burying her head in books based around the philosophy of Yoga as well as deepening her own personal practice – Chrissy took the plunge and undertook her Yoga Teacher Training with YogaLondon in September 2018. During the course Chrissy really found her place on the planet and knew that Yoga was waiting for her; she couldn’t wait to share the knowledge of the spiritual practice to as many souls as she could!
She began teaching in October 2018 and has ever since been teaching in studios and offices all across London. Her aim is to take Yoga to students who would really benefit from its tools and believes it should be offered to everyone – she is currently working towards teaching in Prisons, mental health facilities and hospitals. Chrissy is also qualified in Toddler Yoga where she teaches children between 2-4 in schools.
For Chrissy Yoga is for everyBODY- expect creative flows to release your fears and a laugh along the way as you release your deep inner child.
