Karen & Carolyn have practised yoga for many years and are qualified British Wheel of Yoga teachers who trained on the London Yoga Teaching Training Course. Their classes aim to create an inclusive and safe but challenging environment where everyone is welcome and supported to learn at their own pace. They teach Hatha yoga in the Scaravelli tradition with the focus on improving strength, balance and alignment by careful attention to the breath and gravity. Over time students learn to notice where they hold tension and how they can release it to find ease and freedom, especially in the spine.
Karen Ingall
Karen has practised yoga for 30 years, originally in the Iyengar tradition and more recently she has developed a practice based on the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. She is qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga accredited London Yoga Teacher Training Course with Anne Marie Zulkahari. She loves yoga and she has found it to be a constant support that she wants to share with others. Her aim is to help students develop their own practice through careful attention to alignment, breathing and by allowing gravity to be the guide.
Carolyn Fuest
Inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, Carolyn teaches with a focus on breathing and gravity to release tension and find the movement of the spine. She started yoga with Sophie Alexander in 1994 and has been learning with Bridget Thornborrow since 2007. She is a graduate of the British Wheel of Yoga accredited London Yoga Teacher Training course where she studied with such teachers as Chloe Fremantle, Lisa McCory, Anne Marie Zulkahri, Pete Blackaby and Giovanni Felicioni.
“By paying close attention to the body as it is now we can find a deep awareness which allows us the space to breathe more freely and release the tensions of everyday living”.
‘Carolyn’s classes are very strengthening. You don’t feel like you are doing much and then you always walk out feeling taller.’
