Yin Yang Yoga
The perfect balance to our ‘On the Go Life Styles’. Understanding the need for dynamic movement but also to slow down, replenish and allow for deep rest. Starting with a flowing, dynamic and strengthening Vinyasa Yoga (Yang), and flowing effortlessly into second of half of our class: a wonderfully nourishing, releasing and restoring Yin Yoga practice.
Open / Mixed ability level: Beginners welcome.
A mindful practice, holding supported postures for a longer periods of time, targeting the deep connective tissue and fascia of the body. A truly nourishing practice and deeper release of physical and mental tension.
This class uses the postures of yoga as a way to explore into your body and reconnect with how it feels. Tim will guide you, gently, into the postures and you are encouraged to become aware of your body as it does so. He will aid you in observing how gravity interacts with your body; the way your spine lengthens and moves with the breath, and where tension is held with the possibility of softening and minimising the effort of movement. This awareness of the way you move can be as helpful on the mat as off.This class backs directly onto Tim’s Monday Meditation group and you are welcome to stay on but you will need to book for the Meditation separately via the website.
Tim is a trainee Yoga Teacher, studying with the LYTTG (London Yoga Teacher Training Group). This class is aimed more towards beginners, but all abilities are welcome. Please get in touch if you have any conditions that you feel Tim should be aware of before you attend your first class. Tim is also one of the team of Massage Therapists working at the Goswell Road Clinic.
Price: Suggested donation £5-7. Whilst Tim is training this class will be offered as a Karma class, where you pay (cash only) what you feel is appropriate. All monies collected will be donated to charity.

Bridget’s teaching is rooted in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli which is centred around the relationship between gravity, breath and the spine. This tradition adapts the yoga asanas, or postures, to each individual physique in a grounded and hands-on exploration of the body’s natural movement patterns, working with gravity and the breath to release tension, free the spine and experience greater flexibility, strength and balance.
Ashtanga Yoga 19.30
A style of yoga developed by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, in which a set series of postures (The Primary Series) are linked to the breath in a flow of movement increasing strength and flexibility. Ashtanga yoga is strong and powerful yet dynamic. Once the sequence of the Primary Series becomes familiar, the mind will relax and the practice can become deep and meditative, yet still dynamic. This class is open to all levels from beginners with no previous experience of Ashtanga yoga, through to Intermediates.

Restorative Yoga Thursdays 19.30
Restorative yoga encourages a deeper awareness of your physicality, incorporating yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques. Explore and enhance your ability to move without causing pain or injury. This class is ideal if you have recurring pains or injuries that you want to understand and take control of, if you want to release tension or tight muscles or if you want to restore a sense of wellness through mindfulness in motion.
An energising and well-balanced early morning Vinyasa Flow class designed specifically to prepare both body and mind for the day ahead. Designed to be uplifting and invigorating, expect flowing sequences yet with a focus on correct alignment and yogic breath, all set to a fun and motivating playlist. Nicki’s classes are ideal for those who want to build strength, de-stress and tone muscle. Start your day well with this early morning energiser. Mum & Baby Yoga with Roisin
Birthing is emotionally and physically challenging. With so many things going on with your body and mind, a postnatal yoga class can be the perfect place to acknowledge and accept the changes. The sessions can be carried out from six weeks after birth and are tailored depending on how soon after birth it takes place. Although the class focuses mainly on you as a new mum, your baby will be right there beside you and the session is structured so that your baby is part of the class too. Ideal for babies aged 8 weeks until they are actively crawling.
£20 per 2-hour lesson.

Julie has been teaching yoga since 1987. Her teaching is grounded in the Satyananda tradition, and her classes, which include asana, breath work, meditation and Yoga Nidra, are suitable for students who wish to deepen their practice. Julie’s experience of breast cancer in 1993 left her with a deeper trust in the power of yoga to help us face our challenges and to heal our lives, and her teaching focus since then has been on yoga as a healing therapy. She has offered yoga to those who have cancer since 1999, and she delivers the British Wheel of Yoga teacher training module “Yoga for People Living with Cancer”.
Karen & Carolyn have practiced yoga for many years and are qualified British Wheel of Yoga teachers who trained on the London Yoga Teaching Training Course. Their classes aim to create an inclusive and safe but challenging environment where everyone is welcome and supported to learn at their own pace. They teach Hatha yoga in the Scaravelli tradition with a focus on improving strength, balance and alignment by careful attention to the breath and gravity. Over time students learn to notice where they hold tension and how they can release it to find ease and freedom, especially in the spine. Karen & Carolyn work together on a regular basis and share the teaching of their classes.
